Superfund Clean-Up

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Remediation of American Creosote Works Superfund Site

Louisville, Mississippi

 

The work includes the demolition of the existing structures, process equipment, and pavement within the former processing area; excavation of on-site and off-site surface and subsurface soil, sediment, and debris outside of the proposed disposal area and former processing area; excavation of soil within the processing area, stabilization of a subgrade layer, then construction of a low permeability cap over the stabilized area; consolidation of all the excavated material (from non-process and process areas) within the onsite disposal area, construction of a subsurface barrier wall around the disposal area, and construction of a low permeability cap over the disposal area and subsurface barrier wall; construction of an offsite jet-grout subsurface barrier; and installation of a monitoring system and other incidental related work.
